hi, i'm esther

I'm an interior designer dedicated to helping you solve your most complex interior design challenges.

With nearly a decade and a half of experience in the creative world, I'm a multi-disciplinary entrepreneur and a big believer in the power of beauty to make the world a better place.

A bit more about me: I'm a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina (go 'heels!), where I spent my childhood decorating and redecorating my bedroom (I once stripped all my wallpaper by hand and re-painted my room in various shades of blue and green while my parents were out of town) and/or convincing my parents to build me a now en vogue Tiny House in the backyard (spoiler alert: they did).  I earned my degree with distinction at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville (go 'hoos!).

After spending a few years in Washington, D.C. post-graduation (where I studied interior design at Corcoran in my spare time), I made my way to New York City, where I was the manager at a high-end SoHo showroom (and studied interior design at Parsons in my spare time). There, I represented world-class, modern Italian design brands such as MisuraEmme, Rimadesio, Tacchini, LEMA, FIAM, HORM and Kristalia, to name a few.

While I loved working in the design world— think fancy magazine parties, training trips to Italy, star-studded clients (I even sold a couch to John Legend once, I swear!)— I couldn't help but fear I wasn't utilizing my education. So, I decided to get back to my roots and transitioned into the burgeoning 'Silicon Alley' tech scene. Following this, I spent nearly ten years working in social media, community management and marketing at successful tech startups and larger tech companies such as AOL and Google.

From Google, I started my own boutique digital marketing agency based in Brooklyn, New York. Business was booming, but after nearly a decade in the Big Apple, I found myself missing the Tar Heel state—so I decided to move myself and my freelance marketing business back home, down to North Carolina's Hippest City, Durham, where I purchased my first home and met my Sevillano fiancé, José.

While I still have my freelance marketing business, the process of designing, purchasing and decorating my first home awakened a passion within me for one of my first loves: interior design. I could spend hours, even days (and I do!) searching for the perfect armchair or a gorgeous, must-have, unique rug. I truly love creating sumptuous, eclectic, glamorous yet unpretentious spaces (and I can't wait to do it for you!). Few things in life bring me greater joy.

Life, of course, is an adventure and, as we now split our time between Sevilla, España and the Bull City, my online-based interior design practice was born, allowing me to help clients worldwide with their interior design needs.

In my experience, interior design is a lot like the other work I do, because it's all about listening to your clients, honing in on what they're trying to communicate and create, and helping them realize that vision.

Could you really use an outside eye to transform your bedroom into the sumptuous retreat of your dreams? Or, are you ready to create a home office where you're excited to spend your most productive days? I can help you.

Bottom line? If you've got a design problem— yo, I'll solve it. And I'll make you (and your home, office, RV, boat, etc.) look good
